Exercise is a cornerstone of the Omni Diet and actually magnifies the benefits of the nutritional choices you’ll be making. It can also help lower blood sugar and burn off bad (visceral) belly fat that increases the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and colorectal disease. Even when exercise doesn’t burn a ton of calories, it is a critical component for reversing disease, improving health and maintaining youth.
Of course, we all know that exercise strengthens the heart, builds and tones muscles, boosts the immune system, diffuses stress, and sets in motion the anti-inflammatory process that minimizes damage caused by inflammation.
When it comes to the effect of exercise on your skin, you might not see a connection, other than the damage sunlight can do if you walk or jog outdoors without sunscreen. But even if you exercise in a gym or on a treadmill at home, the inevitable signs of skin aging begin to show up in our 40s – or maybe not if you exercise. I»m not making this up.
